QD Swivel advice

I am looking at purchasing a few quick detach swivels to on my Magpul CTR as well as my Troy industries free float rails.

The stock and rails have the sockets.

Any input On which swivels are the best to look at?

I have done some searching and have seen that there are varying swivel loop sizes as well as shapes.

Also when mounting a quick detach swivel on a free flow rail what is the consensus on where they should be put?

Close to the receiver or closer to the end of the barrel?

As far as purchasing the swivels where is the most appropriate place to get them from?

There is no actually specs for QD swivels, from what I've been told, so some work great and others not so much.

That said, we've supplied thousands of Blue Force Gear ones to the RCMP with the Vickers slings over the last few years, and only replaced 2 so far.

1.25" is what we stock for loop size since it works really well with the VCAS slings.

I prefer running mine close to the receiver due to my hand being up front.
