Hello I am looking for a quad rail for my Norc M4. I want something that will last and function well, however do not want to spend a lot.
Is NCSTAR garbage?

Anyone heard of Tufforce?

Can anyone recomend something good & affordable.

Thank you

rail

tuff force is garbage....NC star not far behind it. your going to have to spend at least $200. ish to get something decent,JP,Troy, Daniel Defence,POF would be my top pics in the Free float types. IMO

or better yet, cut down the factory front sight to keep the pinned gas block.

I'd advice against this.

At some point in the future you'll probably want that front sight gas block and barrel on another build. Trust me. I've rebuilt a few AR's.

Spend a bit of extra money and take everything off the upper. Rebuild it with new barrel, new gas block and tube and new rail system.

Save your upper, BCG, and charging handle.

I just did one this weekend that replaced everything but the upper, BCG and charging handle.

Best way to go.

BUT!!! what the OP needs, is the Daniel Defense EZ carbine rail. We have like tens of thousands of these on order because they are that good.

Given the reports of the difficulty guys are having taking apart Norinco uppers that may not the easiest option.

Getting a rail that doesn't require any mods is the best option, like you pointed out.

I cut down the FSB on my Armalite. Trust me. It works. And it's free.

I've cut down more than a few to fit under KAC URX's ;)

It does work, I know. It just sucks, when you want to use the same barrel on a new build and you've already dremelled the FSB.

Meh. Remove the gas tube from the FSB and then pull everything apart. I got hung up on that this weekend, trying to remove the FSB, the gas tube option was then pointed out and it was simple after that. You get focus on something and all else doesn't matter sometimes.

Mind you I haven't touched a norc yet. :D

My $200 project has become a $1000 project lol. I did plan on installing a quad rail gas block, but if that will not do the trick I think I will sit on this for a while so I don't compromise anything.

I appreciate the advice

Thx
