Hi everyone.
This is my first post to this part of CGN so apologies if I'm covering old ground. I did a quick search and didn't see anything current that answered my questions. Essentially, I'm looking for recommendations for a scope to mount on my Barret REC7 6.8mm AR rifle.
I'm a pistol guy doing my first AR build and my experience with scopes is limited to older more budget conscious hunting gear. From what I gather AR optics are a whole separate thing, so I'm looking for a little help from the CGN community.
So here are my parameters:
$1600 budget
Bright, clear, high quality optics
Something lit for quick acquisition would be nice
Not a fan of cluttered viewing windows. I know some optics come with trajectory cues for 5.56. That won't help me as I'm shooting 6.8SPC.
Durable and weather proof
Will mount on the REC7
Lastly, a magnification level that will give me a good chance at accuracy to 300-400m. If given the choice I'd take brightness and clarity over magnification level. I'm a better than average marksman (in a hunting context anyway) looking for an optic that will leave me some room to improve.
Thanks for any advice
