I've been hit with the bug, and well, you know the rest of the story!

I'm looking for a Mosin 91/30. Many people have great things to say from the vendors here but I'm a bit nervous ordering online - re: cant personally inspect the firearm.
Can anyone advise me on who would be the "best" vendor here that will provide a quality Mosin? Ideally you would have had dealings with this vendor, even better, have purchased a Mosin from them too.
If you know of a store that sells them in Toronto, that makes things much easier.

Thanks all!

Call Trade Ex or Westrifle. They have excellent service and will try very hard to select a nice one for you and also look on the EE (equipement exchange) forum. You will have to ask for access but once you are there, look for vendor weimajack, cant go wrong with him all the rifles he sell are hand selected by himself.

I've had good luck with SFRC. First firearm purchased online for me. $110 for a Tula 1934 /46 double date MO Hex Mosin.

Only fired around 25 rounds. Shoots top right all the time. So it's probably me or just needs a small sight adjustment. Haven't tried with the bayonette, so could be that. Overall very nice for a rifle made in 1934.

The best mosin I have came from westrife. It's a typical refurb mosin repro, and it shoots awesome.
The next came from hunter rod here on the EE. Mint bore.

I'm sure you can find them all over the place, just ask questions. Weirmjack (sp) has good rifles too.

I like that Westrifle has more and better pictures on their website. It made picking out my second Mosin easier.

Don't be concerned about dealing with the site's sponsors. All six dealings I've had with six different sponsor companies were excellent experiences. In two of the cases the goods arrived so fast that I think they shipped the orders even before I knew I wanted them.... :D

I find Westrifle's shipping cost extremly high compared to other retailers in their region. If your in central or eastern parts of the country just shop around the top of this forum.

I bought a 1942 Nosin from Westrifle, along with a 1949 SKS. Great service, I didn't find shipping bad, and the rifle is what I expected. I picked from pictures on the special selection page. Wanted a war production Mosin, and it is in very good shape and shoots fine. The SKS is a mutt, which I knew, but a 49 is a 49!

Like I said, it pays to shop around, for a mosin-nagant: 1st one (sfrc) from my local area ONT and the 2nd one from BC

I have heard that Westrifle, Weimajack (found in the EE) and Trade-Ex have all provided excellent service and quality, however I haven't dealt with any of them personally for rifles.

Westrifle is #1 by me! i picked a rifle that was a bit more than their basic Moisin but my friends and I were impressed. I took the rifle to the range after removing all the cosmoline and shot a 2 inch group at 100 yards. Not bad with iron sights! Mind you that was not with surplus ammo but the stuff MVR(?) imports. It still comes from Russia but its hunting ammo and seems pretty dirty as it leaves a fair bit of residue.

Cheers! Steve.
