Hello!

I'm curious if anyone has recently bought an svt40 from lever arms and can talk of their quality. I figure they have had this stock for a while now and can only assume the rifles have been picked through pretty thoroughly.

They have a healthy amount of these rifles and only bring out a half dozen to a dozen at a time. I'd say you can buy with confidence, but if you're looking for something exceptional you may want to hand pick it yourself if you can or scour the EE like a hawk.

Sometimes one has to consider whether there are anymore firearms available overseas to choose from.
Having one, allows you to trade up , if they come available. One could also obtain additional parts that
could complete the gun.

I have one that has a very good shiny bore and one stock repair. Only shot it a couple times and other than having to mess with the gas system to cycle different ammo it works fine. Too bad they are not $200 any more. I should have bought a crate.

Picked up one from them about a year ago. I paid the extra for hand select and I have to say that I'm very happy with what I received, especially seeing as I bought it sight unseen. I would have no problems at all with ordering from them, they have a solid reputation and so long as you understand the milsurp rifles will naturally have some wear and tear, you won't be disappointed.

They USED to have a bloody big back room full of them, but they are nearing the end now...

Hm, no kidding. I was under the impression they still had a bunch of crates hidden away behind closed doors. Guess it was just scuttlebutt. Better stock up if they're reserves are getting low haha.

Lever Arms has always been great to me. I usually pay for hand select and put in a phone call to ask politely what I'm looking for, be it a collector type piece or a nice shooter. I've always been happy with what they sent me. I'm in Ontario so its always a leap of faith.

I think I'll grab another SVT40 now that it looks like the end is near. The K31's went crazy in price when the dealers ran out. A fine rifle at milsurp prices is destined to increase in value. Although not a precision piece, the SVT40 is a great rifle that shoots an awesome round that much like the K31's GP11 should be available cheap for many more years.

Find me any other semi-auto firearm that shoots a .308, 30-06, type round for under $500. 7.62X54r can still be found for less than $0.50 / rd. and often cheaper.

Ive bought a bunch of SVT40s from them sight unseen and they have been good quality pieces. Lots of them have stock repairs but they are done very well and give the rifle character. I want to get another one from them before they run out completely

The Donald And Russian are having a pissing match right now but I think it is all for show, he will lift some of the sanctions and rifles will begin to flow again! Please! And ammo, again please!

it funny to say but what do you peoples expect of a 70 years old and more older rifle that it come all new lol

My inquiry was pretty straight forward, I was wondering if anyone had recently bought from Lever Arms and could comment on the quality of rifles they currently have. As with any company that offers hand select options, the better quality ones are taken first, and Lever has had SVTs for sale for ages and no new shipments have been coming in, so my concern is that what's left isn't going to be looking too hot.
