Quality of Lever Arms SVT 40?

My inquiry was pretty straight forward, I was wondering if anyone had recently bought from Lever Arms and could comment on the quality of rifles they currently have. As with any company that offers hand select options, the better quality ones are taken first, and Lever has had SVTs for sale for ages and no new shipments have been coming in, so my concern is that what's left isn't going to be looking too hot.

there SVT 40 are realy great buy one from them you will like it for sure

The Donald And Russian are having a pissing match right now but I think it is all for show, he will lift some of the sanctions and rifles will begin to flow again! Please! And ammo, again please!

I'm confused on so many levels..
- What do Trump and American sanctions have to do with Canada and where Canada imports from?
- How do you think we get SKSs and TTs and Mosin Nagant sniper rifles with Russian ugly laser etching markings if there are sanctions in place?
- Have you seen any single SVT with ugly laser etching markings? If no, why do you think they came from Russia?

P.s. I'm afraid the only ammo we will see soon is Chinese.

I have 4 SVT40's
Tula
Izvesk
Podolsk X2 (one w rail avt stock, other original no rail Aug 16th-sept12th 1941 thanks Horilka)

if you don't have one buy one this is the smoothest shooting rifle I own in a larger calibre. I fitted my Izzy with a scope mount (no notch) and she holds zero great still. It's not a tack driver but hits a 8x11 paper at 100 yrds with consistent 3 inch groups for 5 rounds. The first shot fired may fly anywhere but once warmed up the groups tighten up significantly. If your on the fence just buy one you will enjoy this rifle whether shooting scoped or with irons. I also believe this rifle will jump significantly 8n price in the near future. All we need is a retailer sell out of stock, new WW2 video game release and or blockbuster movie to throw them out of the park.......

They are OK. Honestly, better then I expected from buying online but still not very good, all svts are abit ####ty with dark bores. More for collectors imo.

some have very nice bores in fact

I have acquired some SVT's with bright shiny bores through the EE in the past, so, not all SVT's have dark bores.;)

One of my svt40's had a bright bore when I first got it, the other shined up after a good shooting and scrubbing. My last sks and mosin was the same, dark and unpitted when I got it but now shiny after shooting and cleaning.

Just got mine today. 1942 Tula, 6 port, Infantry stock. I lucked out and got one with the early style swiveling sling swivel. Has a stock repair right in the middle. It seems to be in good condition. Stock is a bit scratched up and is impregnated with cosmoline so I'm probably gonna refinish it.

The bad: It was drowned in cosmoline, they didn't give me the correct tools to take it apart, they sent me an ammo pouch that is definitely not for an SVT and the upper handguard is loose.

The worst thing is when putting it back together after de-cosmolineing it, the trigger group will not snap back in. I've tried pushing as hard as I can, tried with bolt in the gun and out, tried with latch in different positions and still no sauce. Anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it.

I love the rifle and can't wait to shoot it but this is just stupid.

The cross bolt tool is something you'll have to buy seperate or make your own, which is standard. The rest of the punches/Jav that come with it are all you need. I have one that has a trigger guard that won't snap in by hand and one what will, chalk that up to the refurb process. I use a c-clamp to get the force needed, look on the bright side though. It should be tight in the stock.

Fixed the problem, although not the normal way. I had an old spec dewat SVT-40 laying around collecting dust since I got my PAL. So I took the trigger group out of that gun and dropped it into the new one. Fit perfectly. Sure it's now mismatched but I'd rather have one working rifle, then two that are unshootable.
