I'm going to be getting my firearms license this summer (In all likelyhood) and that, combined with my 'thing' for lever-action rifles and desire for a cheap 'fun gun' has led me to find the Norinco JW-21. However, the price, especially in comparison to other .22lr lever-actions has me somewhat worried-I mean, it's half the price of most others.

So, does anybody have any experience with this rifle, or Norincos in general? It looks like a fun gun, but I'd rather not drop $200 +fees on this gun and find it out to be a hunk of crap suitable only modding fodder for me to finally finish my lever-action paintball gun project (Don't laugh, there's a bunch out there and, if paintball's your thing, they're pretty intense.).

Forget the Norc - not that they are a bad gun, but for $75 more buy the Henry. Copied off the old Ithaca 72 saddlegun, it's probably the best buy in a lever 22 today.

Nice finish, very smooth action, and I have a couple that I have put 10-20 bricks of cheap ammo through, without ever cleaning.

I use mine for cheap cowboy practice for my daughter and I.
