Need some help deciding on some new 30mm rings. I have used Burris Signature zee rings in the past for my 1" scopes and I like them, but, I would like to try something new. Getting mixed reviews on the Burris XTR saying they require lapping, or the Weaver "tactical". Are the Leupold MK4 or Nightforce rings justifiably worth twice the Burris rings. Or am I just buying into the "tacticool" element?

It's for my .308TR rifle.

Cheers

From my own personal experience.

My ratings:

Weaver Tactical: OK but leaves ring marks on scopes about 6/10

Leupold not the MK4 but the PRW: 8/10 I still like the tacticool look hehehehehe

ATRS ultra-light rings: awesome rings 10/10 for me

Vortex Precision Machined rings: awesome rings 10/10 for me

The majority of Vortex mounts are simply ADM mounts with the Vortex logo. TPS makes amazing rings for reasonable cost.
