A question for the seasoned gun nut.

I am looking for a vintage scope for my original vintage t-bolt. A good quality scope from the 60s or 70s with split rings for the 3/8 dovetail. What brand or model would be considered top quality in those days?

"Why not buy some modern optics you ask". Thought about it, and no. An of era scope will complement the original peep sight nicely... and the P.O.S. Nikko Sterling scope scope I have been using over the years is finally toast.

Unertl, Redfield, Weaver, Bushnell?

I am eying up a Weaver V22A. Any good?

Relative to a modern scope, anything you get with a skinny tube like that Weaver, is low end crap.

Buy a Leupold 2-7 power and get on with enjoying yourself.

If you don't want to spend on a Leupold, look at the new Weaver scopes, or Vortex, or, well, a whole lot of really better scopes than the 1950's level tech of the V22.

The Redfeild Wideviews were a very popular high end scope back in the 60's. These were made in the states back then are much better than the newer Redfields that are made today.
I see them sell on Ebay usually $200.00 and up.
