Quebec 2012 white tail seasone

More tracks and sign than last year in my little corner. At least it was a little colder.

One thing that happened that was fun but frustrating at the same time: 4 coyotes floating through the bush came within 75 feet. One of them had an atypical white patch between the shoulders. Stupid Quebec coyote season - I don't understand.

nothing for us, the wind was so bad that nothing was moving day or night, we did not get nothing on trail cam all week end, the last time deer move in my area was last thursday.

I used to hunt at DeVries place - corner Smaill and 2nd Concession and also further down Smaill, halfway to 1st Concession.

I live just the other side of the Morrison road bridge in Godmanchester. I hunt 2 km's north of my house, between Carr Front and Ridge now.

My hunt so far in the Aumond area was crappy. 3 days and did not see anything. I head a couple of shots on hunting day. I guess I got to find myself a new spot :(

I'm thinking about taking Wednesday off - supposed to be cold until then. I am hoping that this will give them a chance to become a little more active.

I've left my camera on some private land near Rawdon for the past month, with carrots, apples piled in front every week, and salty apple syrup poured over stumps in the view area. The first week, nothing; week two: one little doe. Then the warm week before the season started I had about 150 pictures, at all hours,... but only does. No buck, yet, although last year this same area was where he'd left scratches on branches, musk rubbed all over so you could smell it distinctly. So I'm hoping he'll be there - soon - to check out the females, this week or maybe next. This week has moon overnight, so they might be moving when we can't hunt. Next week there's no moon at night.
