Question about .22 scope mount

Hi guys:

I've got a Lakefield Mossberg .22 Mark I single shot with dovetails cut into the top of the receiver.
Across the points at the top it measures about .425".

I'm guessing I can get a rail that mounts to the dovetails which adapts to something rings can be fastened to but I'm not sure what.

1/ What is the dovetail arrangement called?
2/ What do I need to do to get a scope on this rifle?

The rifle seems fine but the rear sight is absolute crap and impossible to adjust.

I'm now looking for dovetail rings and a low cost low power scope.
 
Measure the angle of the dovetail; If it is 45 degrees, you need 3/8" mounts. If it is 60 degrees, you need 11mm mounts.

Some mounts claim to "fit" both. I would not trust them. If you put a 45 degree mount on a 60 degree dovetail, or vice versa, the contact surfaces will not meet and your scope is likely to lose its zero.

You also need mounts with a concave upper mounting surface to accommodate your receiver's curved top.

If you determine that you need 11mm mounts, Leupold 11mm rimfire mounts are a good candidate for your gun.

I've measured the dovetail angle with some difficulty.
It's certainly not 45, and fits very closely to 60 so if those are the only options I'm 100% sure its 60 degrees.

I don't like the idea of a "universal" fit either.
I'll be in to the local gunshop in the morning armed with this information.
