The CFSC Manual has a table showing .30-30 Win, .308 Win, .30-06, .303 Savage. All are .30cal with .308" bullet diameter. Are these interchangeable? The manual says to never use incorrect ammo in your firearm but only has a .303 Savage vs .303 Brit as an example which have different diameters so that was obvious. I am a little confused about the .30cal bullets with the same diameter. If anyone can help me better understand if these are interchangeable I would appreciate it.

I am taking the actual course but it's sitting in my head and I'd like to wrap my brain around it now.

No, they are not interchangeable.

To illustrate, a 22LR and .223 have the same bullet diameter but they are obviously not interchangeable. One being rimfire, the other being centerfire.

The bullets can be the same, and can be used in numerous cartridges
The case dimensions are not

Remember there are numerous components to the cartridge

If you start reloading it will become more readily apparent.
.30 cal bullets (tip/projectiles) can be used to reload your own custom ammo.
Go check out the .270 Winchester... there is one for the history books and is a question of the firearms test.
The bullet dia. is .277 and I forget the reasoning for the name ...
Keep learning and have fun.

oh that makes sense, if I'm understanding it correctly. So even though they have the same bullet they have different cartridge sizes? That would cause issues in the chamber correct?

The bullets themselves probably aren't the same, just the same diameter. That is really the only thing in common between those cartridges you listed. The bullets themselves can have different weights, profiles, lengths, etc.....all while having the same diameter.

Here's an assortment of different (and very incompatible) cartridges that all fire the same calibre bullets:
