Good day all.
I'm looking a refurbing a K98 (Scrubbed Sporter) in 8 x 57. Stock has been broken at the wrist and not repaired cricket...sort of FUBAR now.
Found a stock off of an Argentinian 1909 / 26. It is a 98 so it should be able to be utilized with a little work. Just am wondering if someone can drag one out of the safe and see if the Argy magazine will accept 8 x 57 rounds.
Thanks for your time folks

I have a carbine marked "Mauser Modelo Argentino 1909" on left side of front receiver ring. Made by DWM. Chambered for 7.65 Mauser / Belgian /Argentine. I just loaded five rounds of 8x57 milsurp into the magazine - headstamp "FPCO 45" which I believe is Portuguese, berdan primer, corrosive, ball ammo. This carbine has the extension on the bolt stop box that rises up over the rear bridge to hold the charger in place - I managed to get the Portuguese charger inserted, but it was a fiddly thing to do. I had not previously attempted to use a charger of any sort on this rifle, so I do not know if that was typical or not. The cartridges did get loaded one-by-one into the magazine, and they entered far enough into the chamber for the extractor to grab and extract each one. Of course, the bolt did not close on the chambered rounds.

Thank you, Sir. Logically I knew it should work, 53mm is pretty close to 57mm...but Milsurp is a pretty helpful crowd... unless you want to be Bubba, lol.
So I asked and you provided the answer I needed.
