Was watching this video where the guy is trying to fire C7 with blanks and the rounds just kept jamming like nothing else. Near the end of the video he shows the magazine with a round that's half coming out and crooked compared to the axis of the magazine.

Just wondering, what would cause that kind of malfunction? Bent feed lip?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvWj3thcvoE <-- Video in question, it's kinda funny to watch the poor guy go through his, "Precious little rifle drill." :D If you don't wanna watch the whole clip the highlight is near 3:25

Or ask someone who uses the damned things for a living.

Blanks require a plug at the end of the barrel so the bolt will cycle. That leads to all sorts of #### flying back into the weapon's operating parts and tends to gum up the bolt pretty good. I mean, I've had a C7 so badly fouled by firing blanks (last time I borrow someone else's rifle when they need an extra body for OpFor in a hurry) that I had effectively a straight-pull bolt-action C7 and shortly thereafter I couldn't even manually #### it anymore. That's one gun I had to clear using some violence and that made it's way right to the plumbers the moment we got back in garrison.

And the problem in that video looks like a mag issue to me. Since he says the "router", which to me I think is the follower, is crooked, maybe it's an issue with the "clips" holding it against the spring being busted. But that's just my guess.

C7 malfunction? more like soldier malfunction! 95% of all C7 problems are due to the person behind the weapon.

What a bunch of losers. Officer candidates to boot:rolleyes:. This is the kind of stuff we have to unf**k when they come to the units. Not only idiots with their weapons, but lets put it all on the internet and show eveyone we are idiots. Nice.:onCrack:

Frikken lovely. Nice video to post. Loved the comments clearly linking it to a CF event. Extra double stupid points for posting and showing the guy's name.

I'm not sure who is worse: the kid shooting or the kid who made/posted the video. Either way, good luck to the units that get these guys. Embarrassing.

As far as I could tell from that video, there were only two reasons as to why that C7 kept jamming:

1. Blanks weren't inserted correctly into the magazine
2. The Magazine was in poor/NS condition.

Oh, and by the way, that was just a C7, not a C7A1.

The A1's the flat-top with the black-coated C79.

Twits couldn't even tell what weapon they were handling. Sad state of affairs ain't it?
