Two monthes ago, there was a used Browning Cynergy Composite for 1950$ (500 rounds went through it according to its owner). I was advised on this forum not to commit considering the price... Now the price is 1700$, I am tempted to go for it even if my wife thinks the price is a bad idea haha. The shotgun comes with extra chokes and recoil pad

Happy Wife...happy life.
We can tell you how to spend your money, but she is your wife and you would have to explain to her how we pressured you into submission and buying the said gun.
What are they worth new?
Have you fondled a new one and most important, did it fit you ?
But, it is your money and your choice , we can tell you to....
So,,what are you going to do?

New is about 2200$ + Quebec taxes... 2500$ as a whole price... Wont spend this of course. I handled the wood version at a store, it fits me but this one is composite. I like the composite for the sake of not feeling guilty scratching it. In any case, thought asking if this price is a fair one for one in this kind of almost new condition (500 rounds).

Composite in this model would be a hard gun to get good dollars for on a resale so consider that also and pay accordingly. 1700 still too high IMO
Cheers

Thanks for the info. Although I am into composite, never got any shotgun in "plastic" before. But I saw few images on Google that show degraded composite condition on some cynergys. I wonder what they got it through to become that washed out and inelegant anymore. I wonder if this would happen to it naturally due to hand sweat and oil from barrel cleaning. Who knows...

For example this condition here, I certainly don't want it to become like this even if I take super care of cleaning it...

Sorry. I cannot answer your question. I do have some browning composite firearms but not this model and never seen any damage from my hands or cleaning
Cheers

I have one and like it, it's my only composite. Adjustable stock is a bonus and I only use factory chokes. I haven't had any issues with the finish however I take very good care of my equipment.

As for the price, well that's up to you...

Thanks for the info. I heard that the value of a similar used one should be around 1600$ canadian. 100$ more is not a big deal. But the gentleman revised the price twice I think, it was around 2000$... I think people are still finding it expensive for the composite... I saw another one its owner said it is used for less than a season, he asks for 2200$... What do you use to clean the composite?

Have Cynergy composite camo for ducks and geese and there is no comparison,at least for me with other OUs for waterfowl hunt.
$1500-1600 shipped max in this condition

They are the ugliest gun ever made. The yellow one is even worse. They are a durable, functional target gun. When your squad mate is crying about the ding on his Perazzi, you can smile and say the ding on my cynergy is an improvement. At $1700 probably isn't too bad a deal depending on what comes with it, and condition of the metal.
