OK, I have a rockchucker, and until now have assumed only RCBS dies may be used in this machine. Is that fact? Are there any other manufacturers dies that will work on this press? If so, are there any reasons one should stick with ONLY RCBS dies? Thanks!

Something you may want to look at is Lee deluxe sets they include a collet necking die which eliminates messy lube & a lot of cleanup if you are loading for a bolt action. Also is easier on the brass

All std dies are 7/8" 14 threads per inch and can be used in all std reloding presses. I like Lee deluxe dies and have yet to have any problems with them.
I have had problems with some rcbs dies and I have a set of 257 Roberts dies for sale. I have also had good luck with Lyman dies but would trade them for lee dies any day.

As part of the initial question, they sure are, I cut one of the FL sizing dies I had extra at near the sholder because I could not get the diameter of bullet sizing die I needed  , lapped it to the exact diameter i needed for the caliber I was using , and used it like the lee bullet sizing dies. Worked like a charm. :D I needed .310 , and did not want to buy a .309 lee kit. for my 30-30 (lyman 173 gr mould bullets). Glad i did , its a shooter at .310 dia

I would like Lee dies a lot more if they had set screw or jam nut locks on everything instead of o-rings. Saying that, it doesn't take much to change the body lock nut with one with a lock.

Like I say...

But that doesn't help with the bullet seater. A couple of dots of paint pen lets you know if the adj has moved but it's not the best IMO. If I could find anything other than Lee in 7.62x25 I would.

LOL ... saying that I am looking for another 7.63x25 Tok die for a friend.... Anybody?

I've used every brand of loading die on the market (that I'm aware of, and it's a lot of manufacturers), and there is very little quality difference between standard dies. Some of the BR stuff on the other hand, is pricey and worth it, an uncommon occurance in the world of selling gadgetry. FWIW - dan
