Question about Dlask 1911A1s

I do not know the specific answer to you question, but they are fully compatible with colt 1911a1 pistols

Well the two I have purchased from Dlask was a few yrs back being a Colt MkIV & only slide & frame were stock--all the rest changed. He made me another one starting off with some ideas of my own like STS slide, Caspian frame, Bayley bbl & so much more.

Basically the above are in American Threads. Lovely guns & know it there is to be another it will be in contacting Dlask again as to how the bike will be assembled checkering, length of trigger, mag well & such.

Besides it is time I sent back one that has had a maze of 45ACP put through it & best to have him pull it apart & breath on it in his way.

Really I should send one back that has had a maze of 45ACP pumped through it, for him to go over it & then let me know what signs of wear it is showing, costs & what best to do.

Sorry guys for I doubled a post & what I wanted to do was delete one, only not possibly on this board. Sorry guys.

As an ex-m/c mechanic I went through all the pains of finding all the Brit irons were in British strange threads & so different to the Harley-Davidson to Indian bikes. Meaning I had to latch on to all the tools American made of not in British threads, along with tapes & dies to buckets of specialy British nuts & bolts.

Then slowly the Brits fold out & the switch to Spanish (especially dirt comp irons) & street irons from Europe with Metric so the same struggle.

Still in the eaerly yrs of Jpn bikes some of them came out with their OWN sort of metric thread to even in the nuts & bolts to tapes & dies only to many of us #####ed about said measures by the Jpn makers & finally they went over to world wide Metric threads so again more changes.

Also as a carpenter I think in Inches & Feet rather them metal thinking of so many inches.

We know the Americans will have to go over to the metric system for in dealing with other fighting forces, during wars, that only understand the Metric system the American forces are having to speak in the same metric linglo.

Like a friend of mine was working on his 1990 GMC 4X4 pick-up in wanting to change a faulty front right drive arm plus rebuild the clutch. On the phone to me asking what was the largest metric socket I had which was 35mm & he said that would have to be it. So down to his place & he is no fool when it comes to his math or engineering. Sure enough it as a 35mm. Fact is around the front he found ALL the nuts & bolts were in Metric evn though it was a GMC ------because it was built in Cdn & as of July '77 Cdn had shifted over to the metric system!!!!!!!!!!

Yet in reloading & h/guns I still think in grains & not grams plus so much in lbs of trigger pull. We are really screwed up thanks to the Americans being so darn stubborn.

Like the in space telescope was ground improperly due to data given on grinding in metric while American changed it to fractions of an inch & so out of whack. When they went up to make some corrections I noted those working on the adjustment would say something like the B-two which I recognized at a special tool, but also asked for he 7/16" wrench which is fully American.

If you really want to know, give Joe Dlask a call - he will talk to you.
.

He might , but only if he really has to . Other than that expect to be left on your own . The answer I got to my request for info was that if he sold me a kit it was up to me to put it together and if I wanted his advice and expertise I should buy a gun and not try to get his knowledge without any compensation to him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shorty

All cars built, including american ones have been metric for years. I'm not sure the year but I know ford and chev were both using the metric system since the late 80's
