Question about Hornady SST slugs

I bought three boxes of 12ga SST slug loads from a local retailer today. I noticed when inspecting the rounds that the slugs rattle around inside the wad. When I looked closer it appears that there is a lot of play between the slug and wad. You can shake the shell and hear the slug rattle quite a bit.

I'm not sure if that's normal, but I had one box of the same loads left over from last year and these do not move around (or rattle) at all.

If anyone has these slugs and wouldn't mind giving theirs a quick check, it'd be appreciated.

they rattle, they're a bit loose. THey shoot wickedly accurately out of my H&R heavy barrel rifled slug gun.

To sound like a broadhead commercial - "they fly like field points!!..." bad thing is they fly through deer like field points too On deer sized Alberta whitetails they are simply garbage - might as well be a FMJ - get out your tracking skills if you plan on using them for game.

Now the Partition Gold 385gr 3inch winchester loads - THOSE make a HOLE!! (in AND out!) I have yet to track a deer I see fall in it's tracks. Expensive though....and the recoil is PHENOMINAL.
