Ok I don't know if I can explain it very well but very generally. BC is calculated using a number of variables. Velocity, Weight, Cross sectional area, and Form Factor, etc.
The G1 and G7, etc are parts of the form factor. Bryan Litz goes into much better detail in his book (a must buy) and basically it is a basic bullet geometry that the bullet you are calculating is based on (kind of calculated as a ratio in similarity). The G1 bullet is a basic spitzer bullet while the G7 is more of a hollow point boat tail that us long range shooters use. Having a form factor based on a more similar bullet yields a much more accurate calculation resulting in a more precise BC.
G1 Bullet:
The reason you are getting such different answers is because you are plugging in G1 BC numbers into a G7 BC field. You can't do that. You have to put different BC numbers in completely because you can't input the results of a different equation and expect and expect the same answer.
Basically:
4+5+5+1=15 you can't expect 4+5+8+1 to equal 15 as well.
