I have a single-lever ARMS mount for my ACOG using a 0 MOA Kyle Armse rail.

The ARMS lever is really hard to engage and disengage to the point I'm half-worried I could bend or break the lever - is this normal? Or should it operate with normal finger pressure?

Anyone else have this setup on their classic green who can comment?

thats normal with ARMS equipment.... I hate the non adjustable levers and have snapped three ofthem in my time.... its like they are made from melted down hotwheels.

thats why larue went with adjustable levers.... and 3000% better quality....

I would say go easy taking it on and of and don't do it more then you have to..... except for the ARMS 40 BUIS, i think all arms is garbage.

( andI own 3 eotec 553's with the arms levers and I wish larue had won the contract on that....)

A common misconception with throw lever mounts, such as the ARMS mounts, is that you can pop them on and off of a rail at a whim. You'll notice they are called quick release mounts. They are meant to be mounted on the firearm and left there, just like any other mount or ring. The lever is so that in the event the optic fails, you can remove it without tools. Throw levers were never intended to be an item you regularly mount and dismount.

That being said, the Kyle Precision Arms SIG 550 bases were made at the top of the Picatinny spec so they will be tight. We figured people would prefer their ARMS mounts to be tight rather than loose. It is not unusual to give the lever a light tap with a piece of wood or small plastic hammer.

We actually wore out an ARMS throw lever by repeatedly mounting and dismounting it from numerous bases. I'm not a big fan of them.
