Question about my Norc 1911C

Hmmm intresting, I did have the same problem a few times, but the problem sorted itself out. Guess on the ejection process the casings are catching on the opening on the way out. Little nicks like that on the casings will not effect reloading.

They are just fine. The dies should straghten that right up. I pick up stepped on 45acp brass, and it works just fine, a little dent like that won't make any difference. If it happens everytime, and you only use it in that gun, it MIGHT shorten the life to only 20 loadings, instead of the usual 30+. Don't worry about 45 brass, it'll outlive you, I only ever need to buy more when I lose it.

Looks like the slide is catching them when it comes forward - are these from light reloads? Are you running a buffer on the spring? Is the recoil spring new? My 200 gr LSWC do that when the recoil spring is new, because the pressure isn't pushing the slide back far enough for the ejected casing to clear before the spring slams it forward. They'll size out fine, Curtmg is right, 45 brass is practically impossible to wear out.

The brass is hitting the slide on it's way out of the ejection port. If you want to get rid of the problem have a 'smith lower the ejection port like all modern guns now have. Like others have posted it won't hurt the brass much. You will lose the brass before you can shoot it to death most of the time.

Take care

Bob

I am not reloading just shooting factory rounds. Nothing in the gun has been changed its all original norc goodness.

Thanks for the info, I've got a bit of brass now and I wanted to start loading for the .45, just wanted to make sure I can use all the stuff I have.

Cheers
