Question about No1 MKIII rear sight

"...2000 yards is a long shot!..." Yep. Before and during W.W. I, rifles were often used for volley fire at very long range. Imagine a battalion of PBI all shooting at the same time at a precise elevation. All the bullets would fall in the same general area. Like an intersection behind the German lines full of German PBI troopies having lunch, when it suddenly starts raining bullets. MG's were used for the same purpose.
