Well it seems that the folks at SFRC either don't know or don't want to say. I've asked them if there is any steel on this ammunition. The response was, "well we can't do a magnet test because they are packed in spam cans"...

My range doesn't allow any steel anywhere. On or in the projectile or case. If a magnet sticks to the cartridge it's not allowed.

Can someone out there tell me if there is any steel on this ammo?

I can understand no steel in the projectile, but what difference could steel cases make? Oh right they can't sell it, not like fired brass is worth much anyway.

BTW, the best deal I've found on Norinco 5.56 is in Pembroke ON, at Perkins Gas n Guns. $250 for 800 rds, $459 for 1600, don't know if he'll ship though.

All the steel cased ammo imported currently use steel jackets. Tula did load copper jackets at one time, but seem to have stopped.
