Question about outlow combo

The outlow is 3'', but ammo is 2-1/2'', is it safe to shoot? Thanks

It's safe. The chamber is longer to accommodate 3" shells but it will also work just as well with 2-3/4". I've been shooting the 2-3/4" in my 3" Mossberg for years with no problems.

The danger comes when you try to shoot long shells in short chambers. NEVER USE 3 1/2 INCH SHELLS IN THIS GUN!!!

The designated shell length on the shotgun barrel data stamp is the MAXIMUM length you can shoot. That length or shorter is safe to shoot but NEVER longer than the length specified on the barrel.

Where have you been buying 2 1/2" shells? I'm pretty sure your thinking of 2 3/4".

You're right on that one. I was just repeating the numbers in the original post when I answered the question. Didn't really take the time to think about the actual sizes out there.

No problem. FYI you can get and shoot 2 1/2" shells as well. They are usually toted as being reduced recoil loads.. also safe to shoot in your outlaw.
