Hi,

I'm just getting into shotgun shell reloading. I've just purchased a used MEC 600 JR from a forum member. From everything I've been reading it's essential to also have a powder scale to verify charge weights.

Is there a tried and true scale out there for this purpose that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

If anyone has one for sale let me know.

Thanks,

Dave

Go to a "head shop" and check out 50 gram(177 grains) digital scales with a .01gram accuracy, and a measuring mode to read in grains; my friend recently got one for $35.

A "head shop" what is that?:)

I see lots of scales like that on e-bay and wondered if they were any good or not. Sounds like they will. I'll have a closer look

Thanks,

Dave

I purchased a few scales for club members from ebay with very good results; just make sure you get .01gram accuracy. (there's some very good deals for .001gram accuracy which is probably too sensitive for shotgun reloading use)
