Anyone know if they might plan on brining in a version of teh XD9 or 40 in the 4 inch version with a slightly extended barrel?

I mean, it'd probably look about like this bad-ass mock-up i did

Tell me you don't want one of those... i dare you!

I would go for one in a heartbeat..I already love my 5"!
Funny, I just left an order for a Glock 36 (106MM) bbl!

if you like 'smaller' guns you might want to consider a 24/7 it has 106mm barrel (factory) but listed as 4in on the US sites. Availabe in 9mm..40 and .45. I handled one it wasn’t bad...

This would be a special order (for the barrel) but otherwise not a problem. BarSto can make the barrels for us in approximately 6 to 7 weeks from time of order, which is about how long the permit paperwork will take (@ 8 weeks).

Cost for the gun and barrel (depends on exact model, sights, etc.) would be about $1,049.00 Canadian plus tax.

Sweet!! Thanks for the info! I did have my mind made up to get a K100 for my next pistol, but i am seriously considering goin' for one of these bad mo-fo's instead when i finally make a purchase.

Would a 5" barrel from a "tactical" model fit in the 4" "service" model? Ship it in with this long dingus sticking out the front, and get the local gunsmith to park it off at 106 mm once it gets to Canada?

If so, it would be a far less expensive alternative to Bar Sto.

That said, I've head you simple can't get parts for XDs, so a replacement barrel is right out.

Good point, anyone know if this is possible?

i don't think you can simply hack off a restricted barrel and re-register it as a shorter barrel. Correct me if im wrong here.

Okay, here's an addendum to the question of getting one from your guys, modded like this.

It would originally come with the regular 4 inch length barrel right? Well if someone buys one modded from you guys, would they get the original barrel too? It's perfectly legal to own a barrel under 106mm if it's not in a firearm and with any luck ONE day the stupid rules will change, so what about it?

No. The short barrel is the prohibited device.... or so I've heard.

The barrel (if 105mm or less) is the specifcally named prohibited device (whether installed in a gun or not). Possession is a criminal offense (unless you are legally grandfathered to possess the prohibited handgun it is made for... just because you're grandfathered for a Glock 27 wouldn't mean you could possess a whole wack of S&W 5946 102mm barrels.)

The "short" barrels never enter the country. We trade-off the OEM barrel as part of the modification (in the US). They aren't worth much.... hundreds of them for sale on GunBroker and usually not a single bid for them. We've tried :)

if you had the short barrel, whats stopping you from putting that in the gun? That would be like having a full auto set up for you AR, its illegal so why have it?

No question, we have some great dealers on CGN, ones that stand out because I've dealt with them are Armco, TSE, Wolverine and Questar. Questar is a great addition to CGN and Mark goes out of his way for pricing, special items and answering our questions.
