Hey Guys

I have a new to me 1911. The previous owner had been polishing the bluing off and I like the direction it was going, but seemed to get off track around the front of the grip, trigger guard and bottom.

I want the round parts of the gun to remain blue or black and the flat parts to keep polished. Could I do an easy reblue touch up on these areas with out the need to go through a complete reblue process??

Thanks

Without some kind of protectant the polished parts are very much at risk for rust. You need to clear coat the flats and armacoat the rest. A spray on finish like Arma is better for this than blue because you can apply it just to the spots you want. Not sure they have a clear coat version though. Best to contact them.
