Question about Restricted Purchasing

I know if you buy an unregistered long gun, you can generally register it under your own name with no questions asked, right? (I have in the past, but that's quite some time ago.)

Does that apply to restricted firearms as well?

I guess I'd be kind of leary. I don't have any restricteds (am licensed however). I have a friend who'd mentioned someone he knew was selling one that fell into the restricted category, BUT, he did't think the person was licensed or the firearm was registered.

So, beit a good price...if I can't register it, I guess it wouldn't be a very good buy.

It'll need verifying, but the CFC will register it. It makes their stats look good.

if it was ever registered in the past your good to go (ie under fac/green slip)

I've never tried one that hasn't been registered at all.

I took a Colt .45 in that I picked up from a widow. My gunsmith called to have it transfered and they said there was no record of it in the system.

They transfered it to me anyway.
