Question about RPAL requirements and mental health history

Hi. I have two questions about obtaining an RPAL.

1) Do you need to take both PAL courses to obtain an RPAL license? Or can you take the RPAL course and go for an RPAL license without the unrestricted course and license?

2) Years ago I went to a psychiatrist for anxiety. I mentioned I had suicidal thoughts when I was younger. Did I ruin my chances of being allowed to own a firearm in Canada?

If you were never hospitalized then make sure you mention that. If you were hospitalized they may dig deeper...
