question about swapping bullets for 30-06

so quick question,
if I have a 30 06 cartridge already loaded, primed, bullet seated crimped ect,

can i just pull out the 180 grn bullet and replace it with a 168 grn one?

I would just have to crimp the bullet and make sure it was seated properly then right?

maybe, odds are good if the replacement bullet is a boat tail.

A load with a heavier bullet can have a same or lighter one substituted.Watch your OAL as too long and pressures may rise......Harold

yeah, so as long as my OA length is good, I can swap in the lighter bullet no problem,
I figured as much, good to 2x check tho i guess
