the rifle is marked No4 mk1 (F) with 1/49 PF112043 under on the left side, . the bolt is stamped with the same serial number (but has a hollowed out bolt handle). the magazine is also stamped and matching. According to my reading Fazakerley manufactured mark ones "at least until 12/48 and possibly beyond" and it was not disassembled and sold to become the Pakistan ordnance factory until the mid 50's. Skennerton says " ROF Fazakerley produced a group of rifles PF112000 to PF112099, --and notes "order short closed". no other info about who they were for or..... Does that mean some customer (country?) ordered a larger bunch and for whatever reason only 99 produced out of what was supposed to be larger number? parts all appear to be Fazakerley and it has a ladder sight. the suncorite (?) black paint on this appears almost pristine. any ideas? speculation?

More than likely the 100 (1-99 + 00) rifles are a small quantity special order for replacement rifles, I would love to see it if you can post pictures!
