Hi all.

I’m wondering what the country of origin for this is, it doesn’t seem to be stamped on the gun anywhere.

Thank you.

There are internet forums dedicated to Sig and Sig Sauer firearms.

You might get better collector-focused answers there.

If it does not say "Made in Germany", or have German proof marks, it will be made in USA.

As always, pictures help. Really, there's never an inappropriate time to post a Sig pic.

Hi guys.

Can’t see made in USA or Germany on it. Maybe it’s both?

Great idea on looking at Sig forums. I’ll try that.

Thanks everyone.

OP,
The P229 platform of 90's vintage will accept the wide dual taper magazine for the 357/40 & will be rail less of which the frames were manuf in Germany & so marked on the RH side above the dust cover.
The 9x19 con-version Bbl will be marked 229-1 as are the magazines.
The P229 R is of Railed frame design & accepts the Bbls/mags listed above.
The M11-A1 is a Rail less P229 9x19 of wide mag well design.

P 229 Carry is of P228 Locking Insert configuration for 9x19 & uses P228 magazines.

The P228 is of 9x19 persuasion & has the narrow mag well that will accept P226 magazines.
The Locking insert & Bbl lug is different than the P229-1 9x19 Locking insert & bbl lug & are not drop in replacements.

Any P228/229/M11-A1 is capable of 22LR,9x19,357SIG,40S&W top ends since the Locking Inserts,Bbl lug & magazine upper taper.

Don't think it will say 'made in,' rather it might say Sig Sauer Exeter NH for a U.S.A. pistol.

German proofs are funny hieroglyphics stamped into the metal if you've never seen them before.

About how old is it? It has the rail under the front of the barrel? Folded steel slide? Early Sigs were German then there may have been mixed with German lowers and American uppers then all American baby!
