I see that the .45-70 is available in the pistol barrel length but not rifle barrel length. is the G2 Contender frame capable of handling the pressures with that cartridge if you had a custom barrel made?

well...I'm a fan of single shot rifles...and the G2 Contender is bloody light, so right up my interest way. it also comes in .30-30, .45-70 and .44RM, cartridges I'm interested in too. :D

I've owned 21" carbine barrels in 17 Rem, 22lr,223,7x30 Waters,7mm TCU, 30-30, 35 Rem, 357 Maximum, 45 cal Gonic Black Powder

14" 7mm TCU, 30-30, 357 Maximum
10" 22 lr 7mm TCU, 30-30, 357 Maximum, 44 Mag,

I ordered the Stainless carbine with .223 and .357 Maximum barrels through a friend of mine that had a gun store . Along with the .45 cal Gonic black powder kit

The 7x30 Waters and 16" 45.70 barrel came from Gander Mountain in the US.

The other 21" Barrels were used and new from various places.

I also had 2 registered Contender frames for the various pistol barrels.

This all took place in the 80's when I was heavily involved in Handgun Silhouette shooting.

You get barrels anywhere you can. I found some at gun shows gun shops and off CGN. Currently I have three pistols and one carbine with a total of 14 barrels. Half are octagonal barrels of 8 3/4 and 10 inches. A couple 21 inch carbine barrels. I am constantly looking for different calibers. Most times I find them when looking for something else. It has become an addiction.

I'm majorly into non restricted Contender carbines by far my favorite hunting rifles

The main thing about the contender frame is it cannot handle higher pressures like the encore frame

Due to this I download all of my 4570 contender loads

I have a 22 inch custom shop 4570 contender barrel and had a super 14 contender Barrel in 4570 as well
