So, i am looking for a trail cam. I obviously want the best one but am curious about one thing. How do you view the pictures on the cam assuming your 150 km away from a computer and you want to have look at said pictures and move on. I see cams with sd cards but i dont see a spec for screen size so i assume there is no view screen at least on the model i am looking at.
Thanks.

You can buy hand held chip readers that'll display the photos.
Another way would be to buy one of the digital picture frames.

We check out the sd card on a camera that uses the same kind of card (if we remember to bring it :)
A digital picture frame sounds like a good idea - bigger pic and easier to check out. I'm going to look into that.

I have 2 moultrie D-55 IR game cameras and love them. It stamps all your pix with date, time, temp, moon phase, as well as stamps the picture with the name of your camera so its easy to keep track of pictures from mutiple sites.

As for checking the pictures on them, I just went to staples when they had a sale on SD cards, stocked up on two for each camera, and simply swap them out when I go an check my sites.

Bring the cards home, pop em in my computer an your good to go!

Swapping out the cards is the best way, and they are not expensive so buy two cards for every camera. If you cannot wait to get home to view your pics, as already mentioned bring along a laptop or a digital camera that uses the same kind of card or a GPS which uses the same card. I find that the viewers on the trail cams themselves are to small to see much, and the same goes for using a gps unless its a real big one. They also sell seperate readers just for this purpose.

Check out ww w.chasingame.com for great reviews on trail cams along with tons of info on them. I have owned a couple differnt cams and my next one will be a scoutguard.

I am using the UWAY NX 50, 8 meg pictures, videa WITH sound, and a built in veiwer right on the camera. Only cost me $240 too!

Yea. I was looking at that model. Looks decent. My only thought was if camera was mounted high up you could not access the viewer easily. The model above that one has a plug in viewer which you could just plug in the bottom and Bobs your uncle.

Most guys here use the moultrie models ,D-55 IR probally the most common and love them also :)

I have moved away from the Moultrie's since the I-40 I had. My I40 was huge compared to the Bushnell Trophy I have now, and I do not know if the newer Moultries are the same, but every time my I-40 took a pic it make a click sound , which always caught the attention of the deer. My Bushnell also has many more settings to choose from.
