Well il start with this question, is it normal to have this kind of wear on this part On a new t97?

Ok well for the short pre trip review. Fit and finish is good, not tavor, rfb, xcr, dd.... good but good like a good norinco m14. Its free of major defect and major machining mark. The feel is nice and tight. The firearm is short and handles well. The trigger is good not gritty at all, I like the fact that there is a storage in the grip not like the rfb were its hollow. The front handgard is plastic but feels solid.

Ok now if you plan to do like me and buy the t97 to save 1800 $ comlare to the tavor here is what you will get. A nice build gun, but lacking a flat top to mount optics, a probably better trigger then the tavor. A gun with no bolt release( cause there is no bolt hold open) a less then average mag release, the dumbest safty selector and a charging handle probably designe by the guy who taught designing the pontiac astek was a good plan.

My rifle came from sfrc and came with a d&h mag and that is a great thing cause the supplied mag seems like crap. There are sling mounting bracket but no sling???

Now some might not mind the charging handle but for me its a deal breaker* . O and about the irons, wellnits awsome that it comes with 4 appenture but for me I think the rings ar to thin or something I can't see almost anything with them.

* and the reson I bought it was to put a t97.ca ftu , this will fix the charging handle, flat top and miserable sights for me , plus making the rifle looking better.

Another note, I sincerely hope that no one that bashed the rfb and ksg for being plastic gun ever buy and appreciate this gun cause that would be beyond ironic. The cheek rest feel about as sace as a toy gun and that the only thing protecting you in case of major failure.

So what you get for buy this insted of a tavor? A bargain! But with flaws...do you have the extra cash or are those flaws a minor inconvenience for you?

Me well I will be ordering a ftu and hopefully start a long relationship with this gun as it replace my mini14 coyote gun, a minor role that I did not have big budget to fill.

Well I gess that wasn't so short :p

From the looks of it, those look like "final fitting" marks. I wouldn't worry. There's no way a part would wear like that after a few trigger squeezes. Enjoy :)

Why not just get mags that work rather than bubba the gun

Because the problem was the rifle's mag seating depth, not the mags themselves.
Wouldn't you rather be able to use any mags ?
And it's hardly pulling a bubba if you know what you are doing and are correcting something overlooked from the factory...

Rally Guy: The "wear marks" you see on the front legs of the striker are just the sear faces ground to the correct angle and surface finish. Not pretty, but I guess normal for Norinco.
