Stingers can be used in any modern rifle marked for .22 Long Rifle, but some target rifles won't chamber the longer cases. They'd be fine in the Mossberg though.
Thankyou, I just remember reading in my 10/22 manual that it is not recommended for the 10/22 so I thought the same may apply to the Mossberg Plinkster as well.

Drop a stinger round in the chamber and see how if it will drop right in or within about .060" of dropping in. Otherwise, in shorter chambers it will not work. It needs to be a sporter or an actual stinger chamber for a stinger round to work in it. I believe the Stinger round is about .100" longer than a standard long rifle round. Later.
With the first batch I put through mine, the only problem I experienced was some fail to feeds. It almost seems like the bolt cycled so fast that it couldn't pick up the next round.
During my last outing, they shot fine with no failures.
