hi all, thinking about picking up a 21, but i've heard somewhere that glocks don't like reloads, any truth to this? any glock owners who successfully use reloads in their pistols? any help info would be greatly appreciated

They say don't shoot lead bullets due to the polygonal rifling in the barrel. That said, many folks have shot lead through their factory barrels, you just need to be more regular in removing any buildup.

If you shoot reloads, you void your warranty... :p

All I shoot is reloads...I don't think I've bought factory ammo for something like 10 years! The only issue I've had with any of the Glocks I've owned was some failures to eject and feed due to limp wristing. That was recently with a friend's son, and the problem went away when he corrected his grip.

don't know about using reloads. It's more that the casings bulge more when you use a glock. Using Lead will keep you barrel good for years! less stress on it.

I've shot lots of lead reloads thru a Glock 22 .40 cal.

Just keep it clean & you shouldn't have any troubles. ;)

about the reload, I can tell you it's NOT true. I shot and passed my probation with my club's 21. It was all reload. great straight shooter. I love it so much and was going to buy one. Then there was a sell on IRUNGUNs for the G41(21 with long barrel), so got that instead. Also only shoot reload. No problem whatsoever. go ahead and buy one, either 21 or 41, you will love it. such a nice pistol and caliber combination.

shot lots of cast lead in glocks, never had a issue. If your bullets are 2 small for the bore you can get some serious lead build up so I heard but I always go 2 to 3 thou oversized and never had a issue, accuracy was stellar as well

Like others mentioned the case support in a Glock chamber can be a little lazy because they're designed to feed pretty much any and everything, including rounds picked up up off the dirt!

Since the chamber is loose you will find the brass gets a good bulge at the webbing. I use a push through die from Redding for my 40/10mm's. Not too sure what brass looks like through the .45 you're looking at though, might not be as bad as these since the pressure rating on the .45 is almost half.

i shoot reloads in all my glocks.in fact,i shoot reloads only. wether it's reloads or shelve ammo doesn't matter.

as for the glock ''buldge'' it MAY only happens with the 40 S&W .the cause is the lack of support of the cartrige of this particular glock barrel. the factor to keep in check is if you shoot lead ammo, you don't want to foul the barrel which might lead to a hardened build-up over time.

I only shoot reloads. For lead projectiles I use DRG bullets, produced locally (in ON?). For plated, I use Frontier. No issues with both!

And yes I too clean my Glock regularly. I just like clean guns!
