Question for holosun users

I just mounted my holosun 403C red dot on my CZ. I understand that it's suppose to have both solar and manual mode. Instructions says that to activate manual (battery) mode, you simply press and hold the + button for 3 seconds. When I do so, it doesn't seem to enter manual mode as it won't let me adjust the brightness. Am I doing something wrong?

Disregard.....my battery was backwards DESPITE what the instructions said. Haha
