I was looking to buy one of these and did some searching here and there were a few that didn't have any problems and a few guys who did, but warranty or returns fixed that up. How far do these accurately range deer or coyotes to, and have you compared them against similar models for accuracy etc.? They appear to have a lot of features, but maybe this is not a good thing. What is your over all impression after having owned one for a while and would you buy one again?

The problem that guys are having with the RX series of rangefinders is that they are too complicated, seems guys want a 1-button system, press the button and it gives you a range. Guys that sndthe time to read a manual often fall in love with these products, guys who dont read, often get confused with the True ballistic range on th RX-11, but this is not the case for the RX-1. The rotary menu is a little overwhelming but if you are the type that likes information, you will like the features, if you are the type that just wants a range then you will probably dislike the units.
I have found both units to be very accurate on smaller targets out to around 500 yards. further on larger targets like vehicles or trees.

I completely agree with Open-Sights as the Leupold rangefinders worked well but for most consumers offered far too much info when all they were looking for was a point and click rangefinder. I expect a much simpler unit from Leupold in the future along the lines of the Leica CRF 1200. Phil.

Now I've got my RXII set up, the only time I need to change the settings is to turn on/off the rain mode feature. It was a learning curve, but now all is good.
