Question for Murdoch ( Armacoat )

Hi Murdoc,

I own a two-tone Para Limited ( stainless steel/ black slide )

i have some scuffs around the ejection port and from where the gunsmith installed ( machined ) a new front sight.

Having done much research, I have come across your product, Armacoat. My question is, is your best - selling matte-black finish a good match with the Para finish. If you are not familiar with Para's Limited series, I can tell you the finish looks very plastic/ epoxy like, slippery, not quite matte, more like satin.

I realize it doesn't have to be a 110% match, just something suitable for touch ups. Will your finish accomplish what I am trying to do?

Yes, our black can be matched to the para-ordnance color. Our matte black can be made matte or semi-gloss by spray technique. You can get 110% match no problem if you are experienced with a spray type system. And If you mess it up and it has different gloss sheens all over, you can use our clearcoat, that will give a matte or semi-gloss appearance covering areas where you have sprayed too much or too little Armacoat.

Examples of spray techniques
High air pressure (50 psi) and low volume paint flow = Very matte finish( very fine in texture)
Med air pressure (30 psi) and med volume paint flow = sem-gloss finish ( medium texture)
low air pressure (15 psi) and high volume paint flow = light textured finish low
low pressure (2-5psi) and high volume paint flow= texture coat (EXTREMELY DURABLE) ( Texture coat)

These settings are not exact but can be varied, from here and you will find out how to make sheens match through practice. But I hope this helps and gets you off to a good start. We reccomend that in order to get these setting you must have an HVLP spraygun (High Volume Low Pressure), with an air flow setting, volume control setting , and fan control (wide spray pattern or narrow and round patten) There is too much to type on this topic , but if you need more help or info please call us,
