Question for older MR223A3 and new MR223A3

Recently got my 11'' MR223, I compared the outside with my older 14.5 MR223, find some difference, would you able to tell me what is this black piece for? The 14.5 one only has this screw driver, does not have the black piece equipment.

B = 1
F = 5

Means that your gun was made 2015 (i.e. A=0, B=1, C=2)

The black device is to adjust your rear sight. Your newer MR223 will have a flip up sight and doesn’t require that adjustment tool.

But that black thing came in with new rifle...old one does not have it in the case.

Wing symbol is the German Proof House. HK uses ULM proof house.

I ask the same question elsewhere but I really need some help. I just got my MR223A3 new model and the screw of the handguard is super tight. I would like to know how to open (is it just brute force) it so I can clean my piston. Thanks!

for my black one, i just used pure force...
have not tried the fde one yet
