I was wondering if one uses 44 Remington Magnum in a non-restricted rifle or carbine, is this allowed under Quebec big game laws?

Curious......

PS: As far as I can tell the NWT is the only jurisdiction in Canada that forbids any cartridge for big game hunting, that is less than 44mm in the empty case.
(like Alberta once had on the books until very recently)
Cheers!

This is all I could find. I only remember seeing that rifles in .243 or larger being allowed. I'm not sure if there is anything at all referring to pistol or revolver type cartridges.

Here are the regs for the "gears" allowed.

no problem used to do it all the time. just know that it may get you extra attention from the CO since it used to be pretty popular to hunt with big revolvers and carry a rifle in the same caliber in case you saw a CO...
