I may be getting access to some land near Humboldt Saskatchewan and I was wondering what birds will I be able to hunt? I know it's pretty good for waterfowl but I was wondering more about Hungarian partridge and sharptails ? Thanks

From Alberta not Saskabush but I have friends that come from southern Ontario each fall for sharptails and huns and Humbolt is not that far away from where we hunt although I don't know if it is still within the "sandhills" which the sharpies like. Huns shouldn't be a problem for you.
Biggest problems is the non resident seasonal limit on huns (20-24?) and sharptails (6?) which can be filled quite quickly if you get into some good spots and then you are done for the season.

I live 24 Km from Humboldt. We have very very good waterfowl hunting but few if any sharptails and scattered and scarce huns most years. If you have good sharptail habitat on your land it may not hold any, I own some real good habitat but we just can't seem to get sharptails breeding on it. Huns depend on the winters here. after a few open winters, like the falls of '05 and '06, we had good huntable numbers of huns. After the blizzard of Jan '07 our huns were nearly wiped out and are only just coming back to "sparse" from "rare". I shoot 3-6 sharptails each year around home on a few carefully guarded spots, but good upland hunting is generally south and west of us. Non resident hunters have been really greedy with our upland birds for years, thank goodness they have seasonal limits with tags now. The resource could not stand unlimited pressure from people who don't live here and want to get all they can in a short time.
One other thought, "access" to land is not much of an issue here, just knock on a farmers door and ask, have very seldom been refused permission to hunt. Enjoy Saskatchewan!

Longwalker, I was looking over the regulations and it doesn't say anything about limits of pheasants for non residents. Did I miss something or pheasants can't be hunted by non residents?

Almost all the pheasants in Sask are concentrated near the USA border, south of #1 highway. And yes, they are reserved for residents only.
