noticed that the gas block has a little play and moves front to back. is it normal?? doesnt your tavor do the same?

That's the gas tube. It's basically just a cover for the gas piston. Perfectly normal for it to move.

It's a back-up sight. The keep word here is "back-up". They are meant as a last resort.

You want to run optics on such a sweet little rifle anyway.
