Wow. Thats about 108 minutes of angle.
A sevice round in a SMLE needed about 48 moa, to be on at 1000 yards.
A pure guess for your answer would be 2300 yards.

For the following additional conditions: 190gr Sierra MK BC=0.530, scope height above bore: 2", temperature: 70F, altitude: 1000ft and a 200y zero, your distance with a 9ft hold over is 2000y :D My ballistics calculator actually predicts a drop of 107.4" at 2000y for these parameters, which is as close to 108" (or 9ft) as you can get

850 yards approx. if you are sighted in at 100 yards to hit point of aim.

My 300 is sighted for two inches high at 100 yards.I tried my range finder and it wouldn't show the distance, probably beacuse it's a Bushnell Yardage Pro and not an expensive one like Zeiss or similar. HS4570 and myself estimated it at between 700 and perhaps 800 yards from a ballistics calculator found on the internet.
I have pix of a big boulder I shot at that distance and I put three shots close enough that that you could touch'em with both hands opened with thumbs touching.

According to my calculations you are about 1915 yards from the target if you added 108 minutes of elevation and got a hit with a 190 gr MK leaving at 3000 fps. Elevation, height of the sight above the bore, angle to target, temperature, and humidity all come into play, and will effect your results in the field.

However, if you are sighted for 300, and are 108" low at the target it is about 770 yards away.

Let's not get confussed here. He didn't add 108 MOA to the scope or sight that would allow him to aim at the target, he aimed 9ft high with a rifle sighted in 2 inches high at 100 yards. I'll stick with 850 yards.
I would have to say it is pretty good shooting if you swagged it and hit it with your first 3 shots.
Anyway to get a GPS reading from where you were shooting to the boulder?

Three for three at the boulder, I was only out there the one time with the range finder hoping that would work. I don't know anyone with a good gps unit.Maybe one will be in my Xmas stocking......

It works out to be 730 with std atmos input.
2940 with a .530 bc and EXACTLY 2" high at 100 equals a 235 zero. Hold EXACTLY 108" over the target and hit it is 730 yards

PEI Rob, your guess is the same as what we guessed, between 700 and 800 yards. I'm sure I could whack a deer or moose at that distance, but I would rather get closer to make sure it's a clean kill shot. Still nice to know that it's doable......

Hopefully about 400 yards closer. Go to a F class shoot and see where good shooters with great gear place their very first shot of the day. It will be an eye opener.

Cheers,
Rob

I try to get as close as possible,or rather have the critter as close as as possible to the road. I have not taken a shot that long at anything other than that rock.

On reading the original again, I see he did not specify 100 yards, just said holding 9 feet over the target.
A 9 foot (108 inches) hold over at 100 yards is the same as raising the sight 108 minutes of angle.
As I pointed out, the standard MOA elevation on a SMLE 303 target rifle to be approximately dead on at 1000 yards is 48 MOA.
It is a confusing question and it appears most of us are not clear what we are attempting to figure out.
