Question for the bedliner gurus (Sunday Night Bubba Special™)

just how brutal does bedliner look over checkering?
anyone try this yet?

and no im not about to paint a walnut stock, just a hideous synthetic one.

On my M14 stock I just sanded the checkering off. It's easy enough and makes for a nice consistant finish. No point in leaving the checkering on if you're bedlining it anyway.
 
M14/M1A fibreglass stock checkering is raised positive checkering though... this is a Stevens stock with depressed checkering, would take one hell of a lot of sanding nasty rubbery plastic to get rid of it.

maybe ill fill it with fibreglass filler and sand it flush.
 
Leave the checkering. Don't do anything to it. The bedliner sticks to it like glue and looks good.
