It will fit onto the pintle, but it won't reach the T&E. There were some early pintles which only fitted onto the one tripod, but not the other, but all later pintles have both grooves in them to make them universal between the two tripods.
The 50 cal will dwarf the puny GPMG tripod. On the other hand, when you do get the 50 cal tripod, and put the 50 cal onto it with it's muzzle brake and an ammo can, you will fill up half a small bedroom displaying it..

I actually have the legs, or portions of them, of a 50 tripod hiding behind the door to the gun room. No work for the next while however. If you check my location you will see I am occupied for the winter.
