Hi fellas, I was at the range the other day and I saw something very cool that I didn't know existed.
I am a bit of a BHP enthusiast. I have a couple and always will, do lots of reading on them and thought I knew about most models/variants.

Anyway at the range the other day a very nice fellow showed me his Luger manufactured Hi Power. Yep that's right, this gun had Luger roll marks and was made in Germany. It is most definitely post war and is chambered in 9mm. I can not find any info on this little beauty and he said he had two of them! It had the very small military sights, and a beautiful deep blued finish, the damn thing looked like brand new,

So my question is, what's the deal with this thing? Anyone know of these pistols? Any insights would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers YC

Would love to see pics of that BHP.

NAA.

I knew FEG and Norinco made copies and Mauser had their model 80 which was almost the same but never heard of the Luger.

You say it had "Made in Germany" stamped on it? I knew about the FEG guns but that's a new one for me. The Hi-Power owner's Forum would probably have some people who would know but it moved to a new server recently and now seems to be down.

From a thread on the 1911 Forum......."FEG also made HPs marked as the Luger P80 and Mauser P80" Are you sure it said " Made in Germany"? Sounds like a Hungarian FEG to me.

I could be wrong about the German made thing but I was pretty sure it was. Maybe my feeble mind just associated Luger with Germany! I'll see if I can get a better look at it. The p80 seems to ring a bell. Maybe it is just a very nice example of an feg.

I remember reading on the Hi-Power site that FEG made some guns with a very nice finish. I think it varied from contract to contract. Maybe the Germans said "make them extra pretty". ;)

Mauser contracted FEG to make some guns for them. Just like they contracted an Italian arms maker to make them
the HSC 380 super.
