RIMFIRE doesn't count

I put 20-50, but my hunting rifles are also rifles that I sometimes use for matches (m305 and Savage 10 FLP) so they LOTS of exercise in match practice also.

There is no 1000-5000 option in the poll
This is my backyard range.... seriously more than a 1000 rounds easily.

Usually 5 rounds to check the rifle before spring bear season and the same for the fall. But I do like to shoot tragets, etc. with my hunting rifle too. Just for fun, once I am sure the rifle shoots true. Nothing gets you more experience on how your rifle shoots, than acctually shooting it.

Oh, and I clicked the 50-100 option, but I suspect the number might be a little higher than that.

Cheers,

Alex

Well exposure to that explains alot.....

Way more than 1000 rounds a year... All of my shooting at targets with centerfire is practise for hunting...

I'm not sure why rimfire wouldn't count if that's what you hunt with. I'm between 50 and 100 centerfire each year. If you include clay target shooting as hunting practice (which in some respects it is) then my number is well past 10 thousand.

Less than 20 total. blow 2 through after every cleaning to foul, this year twice so far, then 3 rested shots to check group. 10 shots through my main rifle this year not including the hunting shots.

Are you including shotgun in this? Count 500 or more at the trap and skeet range, and another 150? on real birds. And why not rimfire? I've burned up over 1,000 rounds this summer, between targets and gophers. I'll only fire off 10 rounds MAX through the deer rifle each year to make sure it's sighted in. But when the deer pops up, I only need one shot. Now, it's not that I have an aversion to shooting lots of CF rifle, or that I don't wish I could shoot more, it's just 3rd on my shooting list, that's all.

I remember being young and single, would pop off 20-40 centerfire every day. Don't get out too often anymore but try to make a day of it when I do. Do my darndest to fire at least 40 thorugh each rifle. If I'm happy with the results, then it would leave me around the 100 to 120 a year now.

I think you made your poll numbers way too small, some of us actually practice shooting with our hunting rifles. I'll use a hundred or more in one session at the range through several different rifles, I usually take 5 or 6 rifles with me. Pretty much shoot continously, rotating rifles after every 3 shot group so they don't get hot, then I shoot 3 more into the same target so in effect all my groups are minimum 6 shot groups. I'm at the range at least once a week year round, can't hunt on sundays here and shoot even when it's -20 below, winter is awesome you have the range virtually to yourself, usually except one other guy who is almost as sick as me This does not include rimfire, shotgun or target rifles just big game rifles. Probably shoot at the very minimum a couple thousand rounds a year in my hunting rifles. Double that in the varmint rifles and couldn't guess about .22 rimfire... then theres shotgun and benchrest shooting. Obviously I have no other life outside of hunting and shooting.

Well now I shoot about 1000 center fire rounds a year, but actual hunting, I'll check the zero on any rifle I have not fired for a few months or if I'm using different ammo, so thats normally 3-5rds, and whatever I use while hunting so I guess I'm in the 0-20 range.

Target shooting and working up reloads, not related to hunting I would estimate 200-400, mostly .303Brit .308Win and 25-06Rem, and a few 7mm RemMag.

Shooting my milsurps another +500, 7.62 x51 x39 x54R .303Brit

And another few boxes shooting varmits, not really hunting (25-06 and .308)
