Took a couple milsurps out today.:D
A P17 & a M48BO .
I've had them for yrs just never got around to shooting them.
Both shoot great . I was surprised to find the M48 (8mm) had much heavier recoil than the P17 (3006). Only issue I had was neither of them would eject the spent round . Both extracted the empty no problem but the case just stayed on the bolt . Found it odd that both guns had the same issue. I'll be looking at them tonight to see whats up , just thought I'd see if others had this happen ;)

Do they still have cosmoline in the ejector box, it may gum up the ejector spring?
Did you give the bolt a firm yank to the rear when you tried to ejected the shell?
Someone else had that problem a while back, I think it was old cosmoline in the action.

On a CRF action you determine how hard and far you want the empties to fly. Pull the bolt back gently and it will stay on the bolt, give it a sharper pull back so the case hits the ejector and the empty will fly away. Of course your ejector has to be working and as others previously mentioned you should check to make sure it isn't full of cosmoline or the spring isn't broken.

Sorry no answer for the OP, but I'm new to this and found out the above information pretty quickly! I was thrilled to operate my first Mauser action with some snap caps and found the rounds snapping out with plenty of force. Luckily various fragile furnishings weren't in the flight path. :D

Sounds like what was already mentioned. Gummed up or needs a cleaning in the area of ejection and extraction.

Rem Oil is also bad as it dries like crystalized candy within a several months to a year.

Ya the M48BO still had grease in it . cleaned it out & it works fine now
It would appear the P17 spring is broken .

Yup she's broken. Now to find a replacement
